I have always loved childens books. The words, the illustrations and the message. (or lack there of because sometimes they are complete silliness which is fantastic) Breaking in to this market has been a goal of mine since I first decided I wanted to be an artist. I always knew that's what I wanted to be, but in high school I briefly considered becoming a veterinarian. Until that is, in an anatomy class when we were supposed to disect a fetal pig and I couldn't even touch it. Or look at it. So, I became an artist with a love for animals! Good combo. So, in the last few months, I have a new motivator. He is charming, adorable, funny and talks NONSTOP, although nothing he says makes sense (to us ) at this point. Clearly, and with no bias here, he is the most adorable person on the planet and I want to write/illustrate picture books that make him smile, and laugh and think and grow. And yes, he happens to be a Chiefs fan and the Super Bowl is Sunday...so go Chiefs!
